The Evergreen Symphony Orchestra (ESO) has launched a pair of limited-edition character figurines aimed at toy collectors with a penchant for classical music. The figurines, modeled on their real ESO counterparts, consist of a male trumpeter and a female violinist.
Each is the exact likeness of an ESO musician, right down to the hairstyle and details of the uniform. The figurines are 10cm tall and made of polyester. The male trumpeter is depicted closing his right hand into a fist to express a sense of determination and ambition, while the female violinist raises her right hand in a friendly gesture.
The figurines are available exclusively from the ESO, making them some of the rarest collectible character figurines on the market. Twenty more figurines, including a flutist, the French horn player, a viola player and a cellist, are in the planning stage. The ESO hopes to create an entire orchestra of figurines.
Because the musicians and their instruments are depicted so accurately, they can be considered educational tools as well as toys.
